Mantenimiento
I got a new phone today. It was that time of year (well time of 2 years). I set the language to Spanish. Hopefully that will help me maintain my language?
Also, I am about to attempt One hundred years of solitude in Spanish. Though, I have already read it in English, so quizas that will help.
And the culture shock continues…
I thought I heard Chari’s mop this morning. She’s got this motorized thing that squeezes out all of the water so she doesn’t have to strain her back doing it herself. The worst thing is that I first thought it was weird because it is Wednesday instead of Friday, and not the fact that it would be impossible for it to be her.

As my jetlag begins to wear off, I am realizing that Spain is really over. One of the most looked forward to events in my life is over. And as that last sentence might seem slightly negative, I can say, assuredly, that I have almost no regrets. Looking back, I only see incredible memories. 11 hours of sleep in 4 days
Today is the last day of class. I have woken up early to get to el Palacio at about 9am. My first final is at one and there is an unbelievable amount of information, nevertheless it will be over soon. The second final follows soon thereafter, beginning at three. This one involves translating about 14 paragraphs from english to spanish. And let me tell you these are not normal paragraphs. Example...

It’s Monday. My last Monday. The last Monday in Sevilla. The last Monday I will ever have that starts at 7:15pm.
I have a presentation in class in a couple minutes. The one thing about my work ethic in Spain is that I hardly have one. We’ll see how this goes. Wish me luck as I describe to my fellow students the atrocities committed in the name of honor.

Exactly two weeks from today, well about a 1/2 hour less than 2 weeks, I will be done with my final exams and I will be a day and a 1/2 away from leaving Sevilla.

I decided to invest 3 stupid hours.
I drank a Coca-Cola Light today. I am trying to build up my tolerance for when I return. Though this Coke Light, isn’t quite the Diet Coke I am used to. Nonetheless, they both have caffeine.
Tonight my interest group, Espana y sus vecinos, is going to a French Crepery (sp?) to try some homemade crepes! I hope they are good, because I am leaving volunteering early to get there on time!

I was thinking about all of the food that I miss from home, again. And I realized that I didn’t put pop on the list. I really have only had about the equivalent of 6 cans here, which for the way I used to drink it, is nothing. I quit cold turkey and didn’t even notice it.
